I just returned home from Southern Arizona, where I went to visit my Mom during her snowbirding months. We spent most of our time in Green Valley and took a side trip to Bisbee. If you’re not familiar – Bisbee is an old mining town built into the side of a mountain. It has tons of charm along with an interesting mix of ruins and newer buildings. I loved the look of the town with lots of alley ways and a construction style similar to a lot of the buildings that I paint (specifically the windows). I tried to take some night time photo, which didn’t turn out well but here are a couple day time shots.
I painted Corner Cafe while in Green Valley. It was a unique challenge…. When packing for my trip I forgot to include anything to paint with. But being determined to spend some time painting in the sun – I ordered a few items (next day air) from a supply shop that I’d never worked with before. GIANT mistake! There was issue after issue with my order and I finally just canceled it. My husband drove into Tucson and went to a craft supply store that had a VERY limited selection of what I needed. Corner Cafe is an acrylic, painted with a 3″ pallet knife, a business card and a flat head screwdriver I found in the condo my Mom was renting.
