I go through periods of time when it’s super easy to start paintings but not as easy to see them through to the finish line. I get over-excited about one idea, which leads to another, and then another… I had been in one of those cycles recently but didn’t actually recognize it until all of a sudden I had seven paintings in process. SEVEN! I usually have at least two, sometimes up to four but SEVEN!?! So I’ve spent the last couple of weeks reining myself in and trying to focus on getting each of them done.
