My New Toy

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when I find new tools, mediums or techniques to explore and experiment with! This painting has a similar palette to one I created a few months back; the differences mainly lie in the product that (in person) create a very different look in the finished piece. I used a medium called Liquithick. It’s an additive that COMPLETELY changes the viscosity of your paint (see snap shot below, with liquithick and without). Why is that important (to me)?? Well when painting with a palette knife it allows me to literally lay the paint on the canvas without it mixing into the color(s) directly beside it or even underneath it. For an Acrylic painter, this is AWESOME because it’s one of the major things that I loved about oil paints but gave up based on the dry time of oils.
