This new piece was such a fun experiment for me! When I paint this style of work, where I scrape some of the scene out, it’s a very quick and intuitive process. I only have so long before the paint dries and if I don’t work quickly, it’s too late for the scraping. So I do a bit of pre-planning and then just Go For It! This was definitely interesting with the canvas being two pieces! Making sure the scene was right, that everything lined up and all of the colors were mixed the same on both pieces while still working within the constraints of the ‘open’ time of the paint. VERY FUN!!
