Textured Diptych

I’ve had this (textured) diptych in my mind for a while… knowing that when I had the time to commit to a painting of this size, that this is what I would be working towards.

The day finally comes that I can begin piece, I pull out the two canvas panels and get ready to get down to it, only to realize that drats! my gallon of flexible modeling paste (one of my texture mediums of choice) has turned into a giant blob of cement in the bottom of my bucket. Not what one hopes for when they’re in the mood to create and have the time set aside to do it. But I’m Determined! So I dig through my product cabinet and come out with a medium I have used only once before, and VIOLA it’s …well… not a brick! So Urban Impressions was created using blended fibers and acrylic paints.
